On October 26, 2023, Loevy + Loevy was honored with the Commitment to Justice Award for our team’s legal advocacy by Chicago Appleseed Center for Fair Courts and the Chicago Council of Lawyers. It was an honor to be awarded alongside Malcolm Rich, Executive Director of Chicago Appleseed. Malcolm has been an integral part of the Chicago civil rights community for decades, and has pushed change forward in so many ways.
We’ve worked with the Collaboration for Justice across a number of issues. This past spring, we collaborated with Chicago Appleseed and the Chicago Council of Lawyers on a civil rights mayoral questionnaire that asked Chicago’s mayoral candidates how their administrations would address critical longstanding civil rights questions, from police surveillance to the Burge, Watts, and Guevara scandals.
