Reyna is the Director of Reentry Initiatives at Road 2 Reentry. She’s been working on Road 2 Reentry’s development, programming, and case management since 2023, wearing many hats to assist clients with their post-incarceration needs. Combining her passions and educational pursuits, she’s been researching the effects of wrongful conviction since 2017, and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Chicago. Her current research focuses on how innocence law and policy shape life after incarceration for freed and exonerated people in Illinois.
Before starting her Ph.D. journey, she worked as a research assistant doing population and community health research, and had years of experience working in preschool and afterschool care. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology (magna cum laude) from the University of Texas at Dallas, as well as Master of Arts in the Social Sciences and Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Chicago.
