Most interesting experience this summer: Going into court and watching the planning of so many experienced attorneys made for an incredible experience.

Most interesting experience this summer: Watching the Romeo trial and seeing four different attorneys work so well together.

One thing you want people to know about Loevy & Loevy: The mentorship is great and people truly care about supporting one another.

Most interesting experience this summer: Drafting a motion in an area of law I had never studied before.

Fun fact about yourself? Portuguese was my first language!

Most interesting experience this summer: I loved helping prepare witnesses for trial. It showed me how much Loevy cares about its clients.

Most interesting experience this summer: Going to court and seeing the process leading up to it. I was beyond impressed by the work of our attorneys.

One thing you want people to know about Loevy & Loevy: L+L does a lot of good work and I’m so happy I was able to be a part of it.

Fun fact about yourself? I donated my kidney eleven years ago. I also lived in the northernmost city in the United States (Utqiagvik AK).

Most interesting experience this summer: Working with the attorneys in the FOIA practice group to draft a Petition for Leave to Appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court.

One thing you want people to know about Loevy & Loevy: Everyone at the firm cares deeply about the clients they serve and about changing the legal system for the better.

Fun fact about yourself? I almost went to school for opera!

Most interesting experience this summer: Working on substantive motions in prisoner’s rights cases and being a part of the Augustus trial. I will never forget watching Locke Bowman’s closing statement!

One thing you want people to know about Loevy & Loevy: The only thing cooler than the work here is the people! Everyone is so kind, passionate, and brilliant, which means the world when working on such complex, heavy cases.

Arzu Singh (she/her)

Where do you call home: Tallahassee, Florida

Law school you attend: Harvard Law School

Fun fact about yourself? I ride a motorcycle; I love haiku poetry; I’m an avid baker, wrote a lil’ cookbook, and have a baking Instagram; I love mixology and creating my own elaborate cocktail recipes.

Most interesting experience this summer: At Loevy: I loved working directly with a client, Demetrius Johnson, to write and pull together a petition to the Illinois Governor for Executive Clemency. I also really enjoyed the opportunity to see Loevy attorneys lead a jury trial during the Augustus trial. Not at Loevy: went to as many happy hours and tried as many new restaurants in the city as I could.

One thing you want people to know about Loevy & Loevy: That the firm is doing incredible work exposing decades of unjust, egregious police practices, as well as forging cutting-edge precedent for when public actors and municipalities have violated individuals’ constitutional rights in criminal proceedings.
