Justice Fellow

We are accepting applications for a position as a Justice Fellow at Loevy + Loevy’s Chicago office. We are seeking applicants who have at least one to two years of legal experience (including clerkships). Applicants with more than five years of experience should apply for the Civil Rights Attorney position.

Requirements:

Strong academic records
Exceptional writing and communication skills
Entrepreneurial mindset and self-starter
Strong commitment to ethics, justice, and respect for human dignity
Licensed in Illinois, or able to waive into Illinois
Ability to manage a high volume case load
Team-oriented and positive contributor to firm culture

Job Duties:

Fellows participate in all aspects of litigation, including developing client relationships, conducting investigation and discovery, taking and defending depositions, writing briefs and pleadings for federal district courts and courts of appeals, appearing at hearings and orally arguing cases, and actively participating in trial teams.

Fellows can expect to work primarily on the firm’s civil rights cases, including those involving wrongful convictions, police shootings, constitutional violations, prisoners’ rights, and other cases in the public interest.

More Information about the Position:

We currently operate under a hybrid schedule, with the general expectation of being in the office at least four days per week.

The Fellowship is a two-year attorney position, and many of our previous Justice Fellows have continued at the firm after the completion of their Fellowship.

Compensation is $110,000 per year plus generous bonuses, with full benefits, including fully paid employee and dependent health coverage and life insurance, employer-funded HRA accounts, and dental, vision and 401(k) plans, and generous time off.
