Frederick Weichel wins $33 million wrongful conviction verdict in Massachusetts, one of the highest in US history

Frederick Weichel was framed by Braintree and Boston, Massachusetts police for crimes he didn’t commit. Frederick wrongly served 36 years in prison before being exonerated.

On October 18, 2022, a Massachusetts jury awarded $33 million to Frederick Weichel after he spent 36 wrongfully incarcerated following a police cover-up of exculpatory evidence by Braintree and Boston, MA police. The case is Frederick Weichel v. the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Case #C.A. No. 1884CV02078-A. A copy of the state compensation case complaint can be found here.
