Civil rights attorney Jon Loevy and Ashunda Harris, aunt of police shooting victim Aaron Harris, appeared last Friday on the Barber Shop Show, a radio show hosted by Chicago Public Radio’s Richard Steele. Broadcast live from Carter’s Barbershop (3622 W. Cermak Ave.) in Chicago’s North Lawndale, the show can be heard here.

Loevy, Harris and Steele discussed “police involved shootings” and the process families go through in order to seek justice for their loved ones, instances when the police have been deemed justified in shootings, and the overall difficulty that families confront when their relative is killed by police.

Ms. Harris discussed the organizing she did in the wake of Aaron’s death and the process her family went through in order to get some sort of vindication and award from the courts.
