Loevy & Loevy is pleased to announce that Heather Donnell, Elizabeth Mazur, Anand Swaminathan, and Elizabeth Wang have been named partners at the firm.

Heather Donnell joined Loevy & Loevy in 2010 and concentrates her practice on wrongful convictions and police misconduct. Her compassion and advocacy skills have earned her a strong reputation in the legal community. She was selected as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2015 and 2016.

Elizabeth Mazur focuses her practice is focused on civil cases involving wrongful convictions, excessive force, and deliberate indifference in prison and jail settings. She joined the firm in July 2008. Prior to joining the firm, Liz clerked for the Honorable M. Blane Michael of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and was a Skadden Fellow at the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law, where she engaged in policy advocacy and provided direct legal services for low income clients in public benefits and family law matters.

 

Anand Swaminathan works on a broad range of constitutional and civil rights cases, including wrongful convictions, the denial of medical care to inmates and detainees in jails and prisons, and retaliation for exercising free speech rights. Anand also works extensively on False Claims Act litigation. In addition to his work at the firm, Anand is a member of the Legal Committee of the Center for Constitutional Rights.

Elizabeth Wang practices from the firm’s Boulder, Colorado office. She represents individuals who have been wrongfully convicted, maliciously prosecuted, denied medical attention in jails and in prisons, subjected to police brutality, or had their First Amendment rights violated. Outside her civil practice, Liz also work with petitioners in their post-conviction and habeas corpus proceedings. Liz has tried six federal jury cases, was lead trial counsel in two of them, and has argued three times before the Seventh Circuit. She has also conducted two evidentiary hearings for post-conviction clients.
