Rachel Steinback

Rachel Steinback joined Loevy & Loevy in 2009.  She took a one-year hiatus from the firm in Fall 2010 to serve as a law clerk for the Honorable Amy J. St. Eve, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.
 
Prior to joining Loevy & Loevy, Rachel worked as a litigation associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York City.  At Davis Polk, Rachel worked on federal and state litigation and handled an extensive list of pro bono matters.
 
Rachel graduated cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law in 2008.  While in law school, Rachel worked in the Bluhm Legal Clinic's Center on Wrongful Convictions, performed international human rights work in East Africa, and externed for the Honorable Matthew F. Kennelly, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.  She also served as a Senior Articles Editor on the Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology, where she was awarded the Lowden-Wigmore Prize for her article on access to post-conviction DNA testing.  Prior to attending law school, Rachel was a policy advisor to U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer and worked as an associate at Goldman Sachs.  She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
 
Rachel is admitted to practice law in Illinois and New York, as well as in the Northern District of Illinois, the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, the Southern District of Texas, and the Northern District of Indiana.
